High Speed Internet Expansion Project
8/13/18 Update: NorthfieldWifi completed the installation of their first two sites and have begun the second phase of their roll out in order to reach more subscribers!
We received the following progress report from NorthfieldWifi:
"Today [August 8, 2018] we are starting a tower build-out in Oak Grove township. I know this seems like we are going the wrong way to Clifton, but this grain leg sits in a position to service people near the river. It also gives us a pretty good vantage point if we should need it for other build-outs in the Clifton and River Falls areas.
It's a grain leg that sits 155 ft tall and it's on a bluff overlooking a vast majority of the surrounding areas. [To the right] is a screen shot of projected coverage.
I have been working with [another property owner] in regards putting up a tower on their property. It would be located up on a hill behind their home. They are OK with it and willing to work with us. The one issue we might run into is actually getting equipment (boom lifts for tower erection) up to this location. There is a 30 - 40 ft portion of the path leading up to the hill that is pretty steep.
If this location works out, below is the projected coverage map for that site.
(Just because someone falls outside the green, doesn't mean they can't get service.)."
If you are located near one of green service areas in the map and would like to become a NorthfieldWifi subscriber, you can contact their sales office. If your area is not covered by the first two towers, don't worry, NorthFieldWifi will be adding more locations in the coming weeks. Additionally, make sure to contact their sales office to let them know you are interested in their services. This will help them plan out the location of future coverage areas. We will continue to post updates here so check back often!
